Highliting and enhancing the city’s comparative advantages is an important part of the strategy for the development and promotion of Athens as a destination.

We aim to make a decisive contribution to the development of the local economy and the implementation of projects and initiatives to make Athens work for all.

To achieve this, we strengthen the links and cultivate synergies with business and trade associations, academic institutions, ministries, and public bodies and look to form meaning partnerships both with local and national stakeholders and civil society.

We are responsible for coordinating the implementation of the development plan of This is Athens & Partners aimed at strengthening the city’s global position as an attractive destination for year-round leisure and business travellers. This is Athens & Partners is a unique public private partnership bringing together the City of Athens and local visitor economy stakeholders to boost Athens. The €15 million three year integrated development plan is coordinated by Athens Development and Destination Marketing Agency and will be implemented in cooperation with SETE’s Marketing Greece and the Athens Partnership, which manages private donations on behalf of the City of Athens.

Pulling together resources will have significant benefits on Athens and its visitor economy, boosting private investment and visitor numbers, to stimulating economic activity and creating thousands of new jobs.

We have also signed an MoU with the Urban Rail Transport company for the promotion of Athens as a destination for residents and visitors. The MoU provides for the free promotion of ADDMA’s activities across the network.
